In 2011, Google partnered with four global brands in an advertising experiment. The goal was simple - how can the ideas that defined the advertising industry in its infancy, inspire a whole new generation of creatives and marketers? We re-imagined and remade their most iconic ad campaigns from the 1960's and 1970's with today's technology, led by the creative legends who made these campaigns. Here is a guerrilla installment both Jono and I did. It was really fun to do! THE MISSION Develop an unconventional anti-smoking message with a unique, attention grabbing placement. THE IDEA Target people in public toilets, to catch them alone and in an undistracted moment. Repurpose a common object with a cigarette pack motif, using typical tobacco industry imagery, and co-opt the gesture of throwing things away. THE RESULT People noticed, lingered on the visual and internalised the anti-smoking message
